July wish list

I have been renovating my kitchen for the past couple of months and now that I am almost on the home straight, I have started thinking less about rewiring, plywood and tile grout and more about dressing the room and all the fun bits – hooray!
I am planning a few blog posts on the kitchen refurb, so don’t want to give away too much at the moment. Today’s post is about some of my latest must-have buys for the kitchen and a few other things that I have spotted.
Up first, are some great items I bought recently from The Hambledon.
These Chiaverini jams from Firenze are to die for! I went a bit crazy and bought 5 jars and was well informed by Olivia that the apricot jam is the best. It did not disappoint and is lovely with some toast and coffee at the weekend. It would also make a nice gift for someone if you are able to refrain from devouring it yourself (I wasn’t).
Also pictured above are some cute coffee cups which are available at The Hambledon in various sizes. They are a great alternative to a mug and I love their simple design.
These jam jars are fantastic too. And I have already filled them with tea bags, sugar and other kitchen essentials:
I spotted these new Orla Kiely mugs the other day and couldn’t resist them! I love the animal motifs and they remind me of Staffordshire Pottery and illustrations from the ’60s and ’70s.
This cool set of scales by Salter has been sitting patiently in its box while project kitchen refurb has been in full swing. I love how they are designed to look like a set of scales you would find in an old sweet shop. They are just perfect and I can’t wait to get baking with them!
I am a huge and slightly obsessed fan of all things storage and treated myself to this beautiful Arne Jacobsen jar when I visited Illums Bolighus in Copenhagen in April. I love the orange lid and stunning typography. A true design classic.
This luxurious marble pestle and mortar from Rockett St George is pretty special and timeless. I think I’ll need to snap it up, pronto! I also love their storage jars (I can’t help myself!) and have a few of these giant jam jars; they’re great for storing pasta and other dry ingredients:
My last must-have items for the kitchen are these geometric cutting boards by Ferm Living. I love the triangle and striped versions and think they would also work well as placemats on the kitchen table.
Keep a look out for some posts in the not too distant future featuring my kitchen refurb!
