These are a few of my favourite things!

Have yourself a very merry Christmas!

Just a little Christmas round up before the big day!

I have seen so many cool ideas for decorations and little finishing touches for the festive season and thought I would share some of my favourites with you. There are some great, space saving ideas for those of you who don’t have room for a traditional tree – there really is no excuse not to have some sort of festive decoration whether it’s a garland, blackboard tree or even a paper chain!

I love this simple branch and advent candle – so simple, fuss-free and above all, costs next to nothing if you’re on a tight budget.

This branch garland below is a great idea and would take, ohhhh, about 10 seconds to put together!

These branches in vases are gorgeous too and look pretty fantastic adorned with your favourite baubles. A good alternative to a tree if you have pets or little ones as you can set them up on a table, out of reach from little paws or hands!

Or if branches aren’t your thing, how about utilising a blackboard or piece of slate to draw your own bespoke Christmas tree?!

One of my absolute favourites are these Scandi trees. The Scandanavians have so much style! These simple wooden trees are stunning and are a great option if you fancy something different. I might have to try this out next year!

I think this is a cute idea for outdoor lighting and is a nice idea for a party.

Last but not least is this gorgeous tinsel garland, which I think would look pretty special at a New Year party. A little touch of glamour and sparkle!

Well, that’s my round up for this year complete. I could actually post a whole lot more but have some Christmas day prep to get on with – yikes!

You can check out my Festive Cheer board on Pinterest for more ideas and inspiration.

Thank you so much for reading the blog this year. Word from the Bird will be back in 2014!
